Eagles and Emu's...must be bird week! I spotted the eagle yesterday morning perched on an old concrete pillar in the middle of the river. It was one of many birds fishing for food.

Then today I went to visit a friend that lives about a half hour up the the mountain from me and I spotted this emu. It was strutting and pacing back and forth like a prisoner about to be freed. But to it's dismay, I only snapped a picture and drove off.

My creative juices are a bit dried up it seems. I have been too busy to really spend time taking pictures. I was at a party tonight and took a picture of this deer head mounted on a freinds wall. It was rather bland all by itself so I added a little bit of depth to it but not enough to make it very interesting. But I am back on track to acheive my goal of taking and posting a picture a day!!

The "Creepy Tree"...

This tree is across the street from my mother-in-laws house. Once again, I just happened to have my camera...

Wal Mart Sunset :)

I went to Wal Mart today and when I got to my car I noticed this beautiful sunset. I just happened to have my camera :) Imagine that... so here is my photo for the day.

This little light of mine...

It is so nice to sit and watch the flames of a candle in the dark. There is something very soft and serene about the stillness and the glow. It's amazing how something so simple as candlelight can minister to the soul...

The little cactus that could...

I love this cactus. Though it hasn't had water in weeks (I'm a terrrible cactus-parent), the weather is dreadful, and the economy is in the toilet, it just keeps on bloomin'!!

How do you like your burgers???

I caught a glimpse of blue sky today. Anybody want to BBQ?

I love the snow but it has turned to rain and it is GREY here! I need some color!! I captured a little bit of color on the school bus that I snapped while waiting to pick up my grandson from school.

This morning I donned my coat and boots and headed up the hill behind my house to get a picture of the valley. About a third of the way up I pulled the camera out to get a shot of the swingset... NO BATTERY POWER! GRRRR!! Oh well, it got me out of the house...

Little Miss Honey...

This sweet little stray kitten tucked herself away in our car engine and rode about 70 miles before being discovered!! She must have some divine destiny to survive a ride like that!!

All I can say is "I still love it!" Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

Cold as Ice...

Another great day in 2009!

I spent a good part of the day at church and the rest of the day working so put off taking my picture until this evening. It is currently 26 degrees and I heard that there is another snow storm expected tomorrow!
I LOVE IT!

Please don't slug me!

I feel good having completed my assignment for the day! Only 361 days left!

Saturday, January 3, 2009

I went outside this morning in my boots and pajamas on a quest to find a photograph for the day... Now that is dedication!! It was beautiful outside but VERY COLD! I figured I should try and get a picture early or might procrastinate and fail on only the second day...
I thought that this cute little treetop was photo-worthy...

Later in the day I went to a movie (Seven Pounds). I came home and played around trying to capture a shot that held the essence of the movie experience... What do you think? I know it is not genius but hey, I am participating!

Two pictures in one day... That puts me ahead of the game!

Genuine Idaho Snowball!!

I ran across Tami Davis' post today telling of a challenge that she has accepted to post to a blog daily and include a picture each day. I thought it would be fun so am joining her in that challenge! Thanks for the inspiration Tami! I am not a professional photographer but I too love taking photos. I recently bought a DSL camera and have had a lot of fun playing with it. Earlier today (before I heard about this challenge) I took a picture of a genuine Idaho Snowball to send to a friend who used to live here. Even though the picture is silly and rather unimpressive, I will use it for my first day... I hope that my shots get a little more interesting as time goes on... :)
