A New Start at the end of an Old Year

Here I am at the end of 2009 with far less than 365 photos posted! All I can say, is that I will try harder in 2010! I will begin again right now!

It's interesting to me how my participation in a simple "photo-a-day" project can reveal so much about me to myself. Most likely, the things that it reveals to me are already clearly visible to those who know me. The most prominent revelation, perhaps not a revelation so much as a reminder, is that I have a hard time finishing the things that I start. I get all strarry eyed and excited in the beginning but as soon as the adrenalin has passed and I am not longer riding on momemtum, I lose interest. Is everyone like that? And most of them have simply accepted the reality and learned to discipline themselves to the end? Or am I "special" ? (grin) I think not. In any case, God's mercies are new every morning and so should my own mercies be for my, as yet, undisciplined self!

Lam 3:22-23
22 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.KJV

Brooding clouds

We were in the car most of the day today as we had to travel to Spokane for some business. It is about a 3 hr drive so had a lot of time to snap photos. There were many shots that I think would have been great had we stopped but we really were not on a picture-taking trip! That was the second priority (hard to believe, but true :) so I just clicked off a few pictures as we drove. I decided this was the best one of the day...

Saturdays photos... :) It was a squirrelly day!

OK, I am checking back in!!

Yesterday a friend told me that there were some adorable baby lambs just past her house and that I should photograph them and put them on my blog. Before we left her house I got a shot of her son with her chicken. (How cute!) Then we left to get shots of the baby lambs. And of course then we decided to extend our drive and see what we could find. As you can see, the animals were looking for photo ops! I did not realize how much wildlife we see all the time and take for granted! These photos were all taken on our short little drive (30 minutes maybe?). We saw sheep, deer, turkey, elk, and geese.

Eagles and Emu's...must be bird week! I spotted the eagle yesterday morning perched on an old concrete pillar in the middle of the river. It was one of many birds fishing for food.

Then today I went to visit a friend that lives about a half hour up the the mountain from me and I spotted this emu. It was strutting and pacing back and forth like a prisoner about to be freed. But to it's dismay, I only snapped a picture and drove off.

My creative juices are a bit dried up it seems. I have been too busy to really spend time taking pictures. I was at a party tonight and took a picture of this deer head mounted on a freinds wall. It was rather bland all by itself so I added a little bit of depth to it but not enough to make it very interesting. But I am back on track to acheive my goal of taking and posting a picture a day!!

The "Creepy Tree"...

This tree is across the street from my mother-in-laws house. Once again, I just happened to have my camera...
